BP1_Welcome to my blog

This is a picture of Cleo and myself. Cleo is looking great for being a 25-year-old California Kingsnake. This is where my blog post name came from. While I was filming (actually one of my student's was filming) my technology integration video for my MLT course at Full Sail, one of my students suggested I get Cleo on film. As I was creating the ending a student yelled out she was the "Techno Snake!" The name stuck and they ask me everyday if Techno Snake is still alive. As of today, the answer is yes! California Kingsnakes live to be 20-30 year old in captivity. Now you see why they are worried?

Cleo lives in the Computer room at Kirksville Middle School!

My whole family is definitely iconnected. I am probably the worst. I am always coming home and telling them... "Did you hear?" about some new gadget or piece of technology. My oldest, 16, amazes me how fast she texts! I am not sure she knows how to make an actual phone call anymore.

My youngest (who I also have in one of my 6th grade computer classes) is always giving me pointers on what I need to teach everyone else. She is definitely looking forward to our Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos. I am also excited and scared. I have never done this before so we will celebrate success together and/or laugh at the epic failures.

My middle daughter, 13, is significatly delayed by 8-10 years. She has a really rare infant disorder known as Infantile Spasm. There are like 1 out of every 400,000 babies world wide that affected with this - and we drew the lucky straw. It has been an adventure. Our doctor told us to "Pray for the best, and prepare for the worst." I will always remember those words. On the up side, Grace fell into the one-half of one percent that actually "came out of it." The doc told us she would be in a wheel chair and on a feeding tube by the time she was ten. Well, at 13 she is very witty, loves technology just like her mom, and wants to be a normal teenager like her classmates.

The big news around my neck of the woods is the World Series. I am not a baseball fan, but I had to get involved in this one. You see the St Louis Cardinals are playing the Texas Rangers. Well I live in Cardinal country... but I am a native Texan. OOhh, I have had soo much fun this week harrassing coworkers and students. As of right now the Rangers are ahead 7-5 in the 7th inning.. GO TEXAS!!

Back to the blog...Oh, I have to tell you a little bit about this blog... OMG... Let me start out by saying, I can't do things the simple way. I have to play with ALL the buttons, and I mean all of them. And, I can't just pick the standard stuff, I have to go out and see what's there. I found this really cool looking template (for now) and I have fought with it for awhile to get my name to be where it is supposed to be in the blank space not in the never-ending darkness of the abyss. This has been an experience, just like all my other technology endeavors, but man has it been fun!

Til next time,
Stacey Kramer
